Addressing Issues of
Grief and Bereavement
I offer a variety of appointment times to accommodate busy schedules such as early morning, day, evening, and weekend times.
Psychotherapy is a process of exploring and processing issues that are interfering with the ability to live life to the fullest. It can provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment to explores issues that may be bringing about difficult thoughts or feelings.
Some fear that psychotherapy is only for those with "serious" issues or for those who are "crazy" but psychotherapy can be helpful for a variety of issues and concerns. Some common reasons to seek therapy are relationships issues, life changes, addictions, depression, anxiety, and many other concerns. For the most part, therapy can be sought even if you are not entirely sure why.
Generally speaking, therapy is once a week for 50 minutes but the length and frequency is generally determined between you and your therapist. For the most part, therapy is once a week in the beginning in order to build the rapport in the therapeutic relationship.
about the initial session
The initial session will generally be 90 minutes. This extra time is to help facilitate building rapport while ensuring there will be ample time to get to know one another and to complete any paper work without taking time away from you. This session is the time for me to get to know you and for you to get to know me and for you to determine if I am at the right fit for you.
During this session, I may have more question than other sessions but I will strive to meet you where you are at.
